According to Rick Littlefield, people who have been kayaking for a long time can find new things to do in Maine. Kayaking is very popular in Maine, where there are a lot of places on the coast and sea kayaking tours that can be done with a guide. The Deboullie Public Lands are 29,000 acres of wilderness just 300 miles from Portland. If you're looking for something a little different, go there instead. If you don't like to brew, you can choose one of the other things to do in this beautiful backcountry area.

There are a lot of people in Maine who like to go whale watching. The season runs from mid-April to October. Summer is a great time to go on an adventure. You can spend the day in Perkins Township, which is an old town on the Kennebec River. The island of Swan can only be reached by boat in the summer. You can also go there. There are a lot of things to do in Maine, whether you want to go hiking or take a scenic plane ride.

In Rick Littlefield's opinion, in case sailing isn't your thing, you can always go windjamming on the beach instead. Windjammers are boats that are owned and run by people who want to give their passengers a real experience of the coast. A rare three-masted sailboat is one of them. A 1922 yacht that was used in races is the other one. Some of these boats also rent kayaks to people who are new to the sport. Also, you can stay at one of the 240 island and mainland campsites, which are great for a family vacation or a short weekend trip.

In Acadia National Park, you can see how glaciers have shaped the land for a long time. Tourists can go on a 20-mile trail around the park. It starts near the Hulls Cove Visitor Center and goes through rocky coastlines, past Eagle Lake and Jordan Pond. You can also go on a boat tour of the lighthouse, but that's not the only way. Regardless of what you do, you'll get to see Mount Desert Island in all its glory.

Rick Littlefield suggested that, if you're a hiker, the Maine woods are a great place to camp or go hiking. People who live in Maine have a lot of trees. A tall mountain in the state, Mt. Katahdin, can be climbed by people who are up for a challenge and are brave enough. In order to get to the top, you'll have to spend between eight and 12 hours on the trail. There are some skills that you'll need to climb Mt. Katahdin, but it's worth it to spend the time.

Visitors can also go hiking or biking on top of a mountain. The Mountain of the Sun is one of the most interesting things to do in the area. It has a ninety-foot waterfall that can be reached by walking through huge boulders. There is a view of seven states from the mountain's top lookout. After that, go down to the bottom of the lake for a beautiful view. The lake is beautiful. There are a lot of things to do in Bangor that you can do to keep yourself busy
